location

Braunsroda is located southwest of the city of Bad Bibra on the northeastern roof of the Finn . The state road 211 opens up the area and the district in terms of traffic.

history

The village was first mentioned in a document in 1540. Wolfgang Kahl ascertained a first documentary mention of Dobecker, III 225 on December 18, 1231. Wolfgang Kahl : The reconstruction of the St. Margareten church took place in 1759. Its pulpit altar and sandstone baptism date from 1785 and 1580, respectively. In 1757 Friedrich II. Lived in the rectory after a victorious battle. During the Second World War , the church roof and nine farmsteads were destroyed. On July 1, 1950 Braunsroda was incorporated into Wischroda .
