Roger took part in FIS races for the first time in winter 2005/2006 , but initially did not achieve any top placements. It was not until January 2010 that he stood on the winners' podium of an FIS race for the first time after several top 10 placements. He achieved his first international success in 2007 when he won the bronze medal in slalom at the European Youth Olympic Festival . After his first starts in the European Cup , Roger took part in a Junior World Championship for the first time in February 2008 , but remained without a result in Spanish Formigal after a fall in the downhill. He suffered injuries in his right knee and had to take a break for the rest of the winter. Also in the next season 2008/2009 he could not take part in any races.
At his second Junior World Championship in February 2010, Roger was 13th in the Super-G and 21st in the downhill. In slalom and giant slalom he was eliminated. After the 2009/2010 season he was accepted into the B-squad of the French Ski Federation, having previously been a member of the junior squad for several years. In January 2011 Roger won the first points in the European Cup with a 13th place in the downhill on Patscherkofel and a 14th place in the Super-G in Méribel . Then he came to his first World Cup appearances in Chamonix at the end of the month . For the first time he finished in the World Cup points on December 29, 2011 with 30th place in the downhill from Bormio . A month later he reached his first podium in the European Cup when he came second on the downhill from Altenmarkt-Zauchensee . On February 5, 2012, Roger finished 20th in the Super Combined in Chamonix for the first time in the top 20 of a World Cup race, and on December 15, 2012, he achieved his first top 10 result with tenth place in the downhill from Val Gardena . On January 12, 2013, he won a European Cup downhill for the first time in Wengen .
After finishing in the top 20 several times in the 2013/14 World Cup season, Roger qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . There he fell during downhill training and suffered a cruciate ligament tear on his right knee. In the 2014/15 season , Roger achieved a top 10 result in the Super-G in Saalbach-Hinterglemm for the second time in his career with 8th place. At the World Cup final in Méribel , he again achieved the first podium of his career in third place in the Super-G. At national level, Roger won the downhill and super-G competitions at the French championships . In 2018, the Frenchman was able to take part in the Olympic Games for the first time in Pyeongchang . He started in the downhill and super-G, where he finished 8th and 19th respectively. In March 2018, he achieved his second World Cup podium in the Kvitfjell Super-G when he finished third with the high starting number 49.
