Postage stamps from 1957 of the Deutsche Bundespost Saarland

The postage stamps of the Deutsche Bundespost Saarland were issued from 1957 to 1959 after the incorporation of the Saarland into the Federal Republic of Germany. These stamps became necessary because the Saar franc, or franc for short, was the currency in the state of Saarland until July 5, 1959 . Therefore, the stamps of Saarland are characterized firstly by specifying Saarland and secondly by the denomination  F from. All brands, with the exception of the Heuss, Saarland (I) series, bear this currency symbol.

The 1957 year comprised 10  special stamps and two definitive series with 20 stamps each from Federal President Theodor Heuss (→ Heuss series and Heuss medallion ).
