Brigitte Johanna Henkel-Waidhofer

Brigitte Johanna Henkel-Waidhofer , née Waidhofer , (* 1958 in Vienna ) is an Austrian author and correspondent for state politics for several German daily newspapers.

Life

Even while he was still at school, Henkel-Waidhofer worked in several editorial offices with the aim of becoming a sports journalist. After successfully completing her Matura in Austria , she studied German and history in Vienna . At the same time she worked for the Austrian daily Kurier as a journalist in the local editorial office and from 1978 as an editor for women's politics and fashion.

In 1980 she moved to Stuttgart and worked there in the local editorial office of the Stuttgarter Nachrichten . She later became a correspondent for the news agency AP in Baden-Württemberg . Since 1986 she has been the regional political correspondent for the Badischer Tagblatt and also works for various German newspapers, such as Die Zeit , der Spiegel , taz and the context: weekly newspaper for which she accompanies the Stuttgart NSU investigative committees .

Since 1995 she has been teaching adult education and familiarizing unemployed academics with the basics of journalism and PR .

Henkel-Waidhofer is married to the political journalist Peter Henkel . Since 1982 they have lived together in Stuttgart and in Bad Ischl, Austria .

Between 1993 and 1996 Henkel-Waidhofer wrote for the youth book series Die drei ??? a total of 16 books. On behalf of Kosmos Verlag , she was the first German-speaking author to continue the book series after the series was discontinued in America.
