The Brisbane Darts Masters 2018 is a tournament in darts and was from 16 to 18 August by the Professional Darts Corporation held (PDC). It was the sixth event of the World Series of Darts 2018 and took place for the first time. The venue was the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Center in the Australian city of Brisbane .
The tournament victory was secured by the Englishman Rob Cross , who prevailed in the final with 11: 6 legs against the Dutchman Michael van Gerwen .
format
A total of 16 players took part in the tournament. The field of participants consisted of the four best placed players of the PDC Order of Merit and four wildcard players. In addition, eight local players took part. Two of them were invited by the PDC, the other six were able to qualify in advance at a qualification tournament. All local participants started the tournament as unset players.
The tournament was played in a knockout system . The 1st round took place on August 12th, the game mode was a best of 11 legs . The quarter-finals were played on August 18th in best of 19 legs mode, the semi-finals and the final on August 19th, both in best of 21 legs mode.
Prize money
The tournament totaled £ 60,000 in prize money. The prize money was distributed among the participants as follows:

Since this is an invitation tournament, the prize money won was not taken into account when calculating the PDC Order of Merit.

In German-speaking countries, the event was not broadcast on TV. However, the paid streaming platform DAZN broadcast the entire tournament.
Internationally, all games were broadcast by the British TV station ITV. In addition, all games ran on pdc.tv.
