Damon Heta (born August 10, 1987 in Perth) is an Australian darts player.
Career
Heta has been taking part in PDC tournaments and in Australia since 2007 . In 2009 he was in the final of the Australian Championship.
As an oceanic qualifier, Heta took part in the tournaments of the World Series of Darts . He made his debut at the Sydney Darts Masters 2014 , in which he lost his first game against Dave Chisnall 6-0.
His first victory at a PDC TV tournament was the Melbourne Darts Masters 2018 , where he beat his compatriot Kyle Anderson 6: 5 legs. He lost the second round against the Scots Gary Anderson 7:10. In the same year he was able to qualify for participation in the World Series of Darts Finals and thus in his first PDC major, where he was able to win 6: 5 legs in the first round against the German Maik Langendorf before he was defeated by Michael van Gerwen was defeated 0: 6.
The following year he achieved a sensational tournament victory at the Brisbane Darts Masters 2019 . As a regional qualifier, he survived rounds 1 to 3 against James Wade , Gary Anderson and Simon Whitlock , before beating former world champion Rob Cross in the last leg decider with 8: 7 legs in the final.
With this win and his performance at the other two Oceanic World Series events , he qualified fifth in the World Series of Darts Order of Merit for the 2019 World Series of Darts Finals . He lost his first game there against the Austrian Mensur Suljović with 3: 6 legs.
As the first place in the DPA Pro Tour Order of Merit, he qualified for the first time for the PDC World Darts Championship . There he won his first match against the Portuguese José de Sousa 3-0 in sets. In the second round he lost to Glen Durrant 3-0.
At the UK Q-School 2020, Heta was able to win the Tour Card, which entitles him to participate in all tournaments of the PDC Pro Tour 2020 and 2021 .
