In the sport of cricket , most of the above states and territories appear together as the West Indies cricket team and are one of the ten "national teams" that play test cricket matches . The cricket championships can often be compared with the famous FIFA soccer world championships. In the West Indies, the cricket championship has roughly the same significance as football has had in Germany since World War II .
