Britta Hilpert

Britta Hilpert (born November 1, 1966 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist .

Life

After graduating from high school at Wilhelmgymnasium in Hamburg, she obtained a picture technician diploma in 1988 at the school for broadcast technology in Nuremberg . After various activities at RIAS-TV , NDR and Sat.1, he studied history, first at the University of Aix-Marseille in Aix-en-Provence in France and from 1991 at King's College London .

On the side, Hilpert began working as a journalist for ZDF in London in 1992 . After completing her studies in 1993, she worked as a freelancer for ZDF in Brussels for two years . She then worked for a year as a reporter for the WISO program at the ZDF broadcasting center in Mainz and then for the heute-journal . This was followed in 1997 by a job at the ZDF regional studio in Hessen in Wiesbaden . From 1998 to 2000 she headed the ZDF regional studio Saarland in Saarbrücken . Until 2004 she was ZDF correspondent in Brussels, then studio manager in Moscow . In recognition of her work in Russia , she received the Hanns-Joachim-Friedrichs-Preis eV sponsorship award in 2005. From 2008 to 2017, Hilpert was the ZDF regional studio manager for Brandenburg in Potsdam . On January 1, 2018, she moved to Vienna as ZDF studio manager .

Commitment to freedom of the press

Hilpert is a board member of the German section of the human rights organization Reporters Without Borders .

Assault by AfD supporters

On November 26, 2015, Hilpert was physically attacked by several participants in an AfD demonstration in Cottbus when she was about to conduct an interview for ZDF. The police had to intervene.
