Britta Knöller
Britta Knöller (born January 29, 1975 in Pointe-Claire , Québec , Canada) is a German film producer .
Life
Britta Knöller studied from 1994 to 1998 at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen and at the University of Glasgow , majoring in theater, film and television studies. She lives in Berlin .
From 1998 to 2001 she worked as a production and assistant director for films by Hans-Christian Schmid , Stefan Ruzowitzky , Rainer Kaufmann , Gregor Schnitzler and Sabiha Sumar. After that, she was assistant to producer Maria Köpf at the film production company X Films creative pool for three years.
In 2005 Britta Knöller took over the post-production coordination of Hans-Christian Schmid's film Requiem .
Since 2005 she has been a producer and partner in 23/5 Filmproduktion GmbH based in Berlin.
Her first project as a producer, In the end there are tourists by Robert Thalheim , had its world premiere in May 2007 at the Cannes International Film Festival in the series "Un Certain Regard". The film was nominated for the German Film Prize 2008 in the category Best Feature Film.
Britta Knöller also produced the documentary The Wondrous World of Washing Power by Hans-Christian Schmid as well as the international co-productions Sturm and the French-German co-production La Lisière - Am Waldrand .
For Sturm , she and Hans-Christian Schmid were awarded silver in the category Best Feature Film at the German Film Prize 2010 .
In 2016, the eight-part, completed crime series The Disappearance of Hans-Christian Schmid was shot in Bavaria, the Czech Republic and Berlin.
In 2017 Britta Knöller was in charge of the feature film Atlas by David Nawrath , which premiered at the Hof International Film Festival in 2018 and was released in April 2019. In the early summer of 2018, she and Hans-Christian Schmid produced the RBB television film Polizeiruf 110: Der Fall Sikorska .
Britta Knöller is a member of the German Film Academy
