Broich is a district of Bedburg in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis , North Rhine-Westphalia . The local mayor is Heinz-Gerd Horn ( SPD ).

Broich is a northeastern district of Bedburg. The Erft flows through the village, which borders the Bergheim opencast mine to the east . The main thoroughfare is the state road 361 .
history
It is known that there was a St. Lambertus Chapel in Broich in 1298 , which appears in the liber valoris as the parish church of Bedburg. This church must have stood in the current cemetery . There are also old tombstones from the 17th to 19th centuries.
In the vicinity of Broich there was a fortified aristocratic seat, which in 1166 was called castrum Scidrike . A submerged place of the same name belonged to it.
