Broock has been a district of Lübz in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany) since January 1st, 2009 .

Geography and traffic

The district is located about five kilometers east of Lübz and about twelve kilometers west of Plau am See . In the northern part of the former municipality are the Müritz-Elde-Wasserstraße and the Alte Elde . The latter is part of the Alte Elde nature reserve near Kuppentin . Here is a larger forest area with the driving wood . The Kritzower See is located southeast of the village . The highest peaks in the former municipality are in the southern part and reach almost 100  m above sea level. NHN .

The federal road 191 runs through the former municipality .

history

As finds from Neolithic tools prove, the Broocker Feldmark has been inhabited for at least 5000 years.

Broock was first mentioned in 1317 as Brůkowe . The derivation of the locator name Brok is unsecured.

On January 1, 1951, the previously independent municipality Wessentin was incorporated.

The municipality of Broock was dissolved on January 1, 2009 and incorporated into the city of Lübz.
