Brooks Reed (born February 28, 1988 in Tucson , Arizona , United States ) is an American football player in the position of Outside Linbeacker . Most recently he played for the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL . He is currently a free agent .

High school

Reed went to Sabino High School in Tanque Verde , Arizona . Here he played as running back and on the defensive line on the high school football team.

college

Reed went to the University of Arizona . Here he was used exclusively as a linebacker .

NFL

Brooks Reed was selected in the 2011 NFL Draft in the second round as the 42nd player by the Houston Texans . In his first season, due to an injury to Mario Williams , he was part of the defense team from the sixth day onwards. In his first game he had six tackles , in his second game he managed the first sack of his professional career. In March 2015 Reed moved to the Atlanta Falcons , with whom he reached the Super Bowl LI , which was lost to the New England Patriots at 28:34 . In the three following seasons (2016-2018) he only missed a regular season game until he finally signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals on February 9, 2019 and thus returned to his homeland.
