Bruce Man Son Hing (born April 13, 1964 in Grenada , Lesser Antilles ) is a retired American tennis player .

Life

Man Son Hing grew up on the island state of Grenada. When he was nine years old, his family first moved to Los Angeles and shortly thereafter to Glendale . At this point he also took up the tennis game. Between 1982 and 1986 he studied social science at UC Irvine , where he topped the internal ranking of tennis players in the final years of his studies. Between 1988 and 1989 he played as a professional tennis player on the ATP World Tour . He celebrated his greatest successes in doubles with his partner John Letts . Together they won the 189 ATP Challenger tournament of Nagoya and reached the final of the ATP tournament in Seoul and Auckland . His best individual result was participation in the semi-finals of the Challenger tournament in San Luis Potosí , where he lost to Jorge Lozano in three sets . He reached the highest ranking in the tennis world rankings in 1988 with position 305 in singles and in 1989 with position 132 in doubles.

In the individual, he could never qualify for a Grand Slam tournament. In the doubles competition he reached the second round of the Australian Open and Wimbledon . He was also in the first round of the mixed competition at the French Open and Wimbledon .
