The Bruce Peninsula National Park ( English Bruce Peninsula National Park of Canada , French Parc national du Canada de la Péninsule-Bruce ) is a rocky Canadian national park in southern ontario (eastern Canada ). The park is an IUCN Category II ( National Park ) protected area .

Located on the Bruce Peninsula on Lake Huron , the park was founded in 1987 and has an area of ​​154 km² with not inconsiderable tourism. The next larger town is Tobermory . The Bruce Trail begins in the park. To the north, on the headland of the peninsula, is the Fathom Five National Marine Park , not far from the Cabot Head Provincial Nature Reserve and MacGregor Point Provincial Park . In 2009, 167 km² were designated as Dark Sky Preserve ( light protection area , Bruce Peninsula Dark Sky Preserve ), which includes the park and parts of Five Fathoms.
