Bruno François Guy Putzulu (born May 24, 1967 in Pont-Audemer , Eure ) is a French theater and film actor .

Life

Putzulu, whose father comes from Sardinia , grew up in Normandy . At first he wanted to be a soccer player; for several years he was a member of an amateur club. When he saw Bruce Lee in a movie, he decided to become an actor. In 1990 he began a three-year acting course at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique in Paris . From 1994 to 2002 he was a regular at the Comédie-Française on the theater stage. There he met his college friend Philippe Torreton again, who introduced him to the director Bertrand Tavernier . Tavernier finally hired him for his crime film The Decoy (1995), with which Putzulu became known to a wider audience.

This was followed by small supporting roles in films such as Jefferson in Paris (1995) with Nick Nolte . In 1997 Putzulu received a nomination for the César for Best Young Actor for his performance in Les aveux de l'innocent , which he won in 1999 in the same category for School of Seduction . In 2001 he got the lead role in Jean-Luc Godard's film Auf die Liebe , after Godard saw him in the love drama Until the Next Station (1999). A year later he took on the male lead in the love story Irène (2002) alongside Cécile de France . In the same year, Putzulu was excluded from the Comédie-Française due to his strong personality.

With Philippe Torreton in the role of Napoleon Bonaparte , Putzulu was then seen as his best friend Franceschi Cipriani in the historical drama Monsieur N. (2003). This was followed by a role in the hit comedy film Père et fils as one of Philippe Noiret's three sons . In Holy Lola (2004) Putzulu appeared again alongside Jacques Gamblin and Isabelle Carré under the direction of Tavernier. In 2009 he was also seen in Claude Berri 's last film The Little House Tyrant .

In 2010 Putzulu brought out the music album Drôle de monde , the songs of which he wrote himself and interpreted as a singer. He had previously published the book Je me suis régalé (2007) Conversations with Philippe Noiret, who died in 2006, which was also published as an audio book in 2014 under the title Philippe Noiret.
