Bruno Walpoth

Bruno Walpoth (* 1959 in Bressanone ) is a Ladin sculptor.

After attending elementary school and the state vocational school for arts and crafts in Ortisei , he studied sculpture with Hans Ladner from 1978 to 1984 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich , and from 1983 as a master student. From 1985 to 2003 he worked as a teacher at the State School for Sculptors in Selva di Val Gardena . His uncle is the sculptor Johann Baptist Walpoth

Walpoth mainly works in wood, he is best known for his life-size sculptures. Since 2000 he has been a member of the South Tyrolean Artists Association .

For the feature film Pinocchio by director Matteo Garrone , he created two sculptures that depict the protagonist.
