Bryan Schmidt (born July 27, 1981 in Bloomington , Minnesota ) is an American ice hockey player of German origin who has been under contract with Starbulls Rosenheim in the 2nd Bundesliga since July 2012 .

Career

Schmidt began his career in the 1999/2000 season with the Twin City Vulcans in the United States Hockey League and was on the ice after an engagement with the Tri-City Storm for the team of Merrimack College in the NCAA game operations . In his last year of college , the right- shooter spent some time with the Providence Bruins from the American Hockey League and finally signed a contract with league rivals Manchester Monarchs . Before moving to Kassel, he completed 44 games in the American Hockey League with the Milwaukee Admirals in the 2007/08 season , before moving to the ECHL for 14 more games with the Cincinnati Cyclones .

On August 26, 2008, the defender signed an annual contract with the Kassel Huskies after he was able to convince coach Stéphane Richer and his team of his playful and human qualities in a two-week tryout . In the summer of 2010 he got a trial contract with the Malmö Redhawks , which was not renewed. In October of the same year he got another try-out contract with the Krefeld Pinguinen. In the same month Schmidt was signed by the South Carolina Stingrays from the ECHL, for which he was used in 38 games until January 2011.

On January 18, 2011 Bryan Schmidt was signed by EHC Munich until the end of the season.
