Location of Buch in Saxony

Buch is a district of the city of Treuen in the Vogtlandkreis (Free State of Saxony ). The settlement originally belonged to the independent municipality of Perlas , which was renamed Veitenhäuser on July 13, 1931 and incorporated into Treuen on July 1, 1950.

Buch is located northeast of Treuen in the east of the Vogtland natural area in the Saxon part of the historical Vogtland . The settlement lies on a watershed. The Lammelsbach rises in the west of the village and drains into the White Elster via the Trieb . The Dorfbach Wolfspfütz in the north and the Lengenfelder Stadtbach in the northeast drain into the Göltzsch .

In Buch there is the nature trail "Am Kreuzstein", which is laid out as a circular route and is 3.5 km long.

history

The settlement of Buch east of Perlas was mentioned in 1791 under the name of Bug . Around 1814 there was only a single house in the beech forest. Until the middle of the 19th century, the manor over Buch was with the manor Treuen upper part.

The Buch settlement, which has always belonged to Perlas, was in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Plauen until 1856 . In 1856 the place was affiliated with the Treuen court office and in 1875 with the Auerbach administration . Since 1865 the Herlasgrün – Oelsnitz railway line has run west of the town without stopping.
