history

Seal mark of the former municipality

Wolfspfütz was first mentioned in a document on April 21, 1412. The spelling of the place name at that time was Wolffispfuczen . From the historic center of Waldhufendorf , seven former farms have been preserved to this day. In addition to a populated eastern and western part of the village, there is a wooded terrain spur. Since its foundation, Wolfspfütz has been closely connected with the Reussian Vogtland , in whose office Plauen it was until the 19th century. The place came in the 16th century with the rule of Mylau to the Electoral Saxon or later royal Saxon office of Plauen, to which the place was subject until 1856. In 1856 Wolfspfütz was affiliated with the Treuen court office and in 1875 with the Auerbach administration .

As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Wolfspfütz came to the Reichenbach district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Reichenbach from 1990 and became part of the Vogtland district in 1996. On July 1, 1953, Wolfspfütz was incorporated into the neighboring town of Lengenfeld (Vogtland). In 2012 the 600th anniversary of the town was celebrated with a festive celebration.
