history
Schönbrunn was mentioned in 1140 as "Schonbrun". Since its foundation, the place has been closely connected with the Reussian Vogtland . The manorial rule over the village lay with the manor Mylau . In the 16th century, Schönbrunn came with the rule of Mylau to the Electoral Saxon or later royal Saxon office of Plauen , to which the place was subject until 1856. In 1856 Schönbrunn was affiliated to the Lengenfeld court office and in 1875 to the Auerbach administration . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Schönbrunn came to the Reichenbach district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Reichenbach from 1990 and was added to the Vogtland district in 1996.
On January 1, 1999, Schönbrunn was incorporated into the neighboring town of Lengenfeld (Vogtland) together with the neighboring village of Waldkirchen.
In August 2015 there was a tragic accident while harvesting in a field on the B 94. During a repair on the straw press used there, a 20-year-old was caught and injured so badly that he died in the Zwickau hospital, to which he was taken by rescue helicopter.
Church and Culture
Schönbrunn was parish in Waldkirchen from time immemorial until 2001. Today there is a busy clubhouse in Schönbrunn.
