history
Abhorn was first mentioned in 1140 as Ohorn . In 1435 the place is called Abhorn . Abhorn has always been parish church to Plohn. The basic rule of the place was to the 19th century proportionately at the upper and lower manor Plohn .
Until 1856 Abhorn belonged to the Electoral Saxon or later Royal Saxon Office of Plauen , to which the place was subject until 1856. In 1856 Abhorn was affiliated to the Lengenfeld court office and in 1875 to the Auerbach administration . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Abhorn, like its neighboring town of Plohn, became part of the Auerbach district in the Chemnitz district (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Auerbach from 1990 onwards .
On January 1, 1979 Abhorn was incorporated into Plohn. As a result of the incorporation of the municipality of Plohn with its district Abhorn into the city of Lengenfeld, both places changed on July 1, 1993 to the district of Reichenbach in Vogtland , which was added to the Vogtlandkreis in 1996.
