Buckow is a part of the district Großwudicke of the municipality Milower Land in the Havelland district in Brandenburg . The state border with Saxony-Anhalt runs not far to the north and west.

Geography and transport links

The K 6330, the Lehrter Bahn railway line between Rathenow and Stendal and the B 188 run along the southern edge of the town . The Buckower See extends to the north of the village .

history

On September 30, 1928, parts of the Buckow estate were united with the rural communities of Großwudicke, Steckelsdorf and Buckow. The 541 hectares of forest with the Buckow forester's house to the west of the old Rathenow-Schmetzdorfer Straße came to the rural community of Großwudicke, the Trittsee, about 17 ha in size, and the approximately 7-hectare meadow on the Havel to the rural community of Steckelsdorf. The remaining part of the Buckow manor district came to the Buckow rural community.

On July 1, 1950, the Buckow municipality from the Jerichow II district in the state of Saxony-Anhalt was incorporated into the Wudicke municipality.
