Großwudicke is a district of the municipality of Milower Land in Havelland in Brandenburg . It is located directly on the western border with Saxony-Anhalt . Großwudicke includes the districts of Buckow , Klein Buckow and Kleinwudicke as well as the forester's house, sheep farm and brickyard.

Geography and transport links

Großwudicke is on the B 188 . The train station in Großwudicke is on the Lehrter Bahn railway line between Rathenow and Stendal .

history

On May 3, 1912, the rural community and the manor district "Wudicke" were renamed "Großwudicke". On September 30, 1928, the Großwudicke manor district was merged with the Großwudicke rural community. Before 1948 the municipality name was changed to Wudicke . On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community Buckow was incorporated.

The municipality of Wudicke originally belonged to the district of Jerichow II in what would later become the state of Saxony-Anhalt and was assigned to the district of Havelberg on July 25, 1952 as part of an administrative reform . On January 1, 1957, the community was reclassified to the Rathenow district in the Potsdam district and at the same time renamed Großwudicke . Since October 26, 2003, Großwudicke has been a part of the municipality of Milower Land.

The estate last belonged to Paul von Gontard's heirs before 1945 . The mansion, which was the alternative quarters of the Swiss Embassy in Berlin from 1943 until the end of World War II , was demolished in 1973 and a single-storey residential building was built on its foundations.
