Busendorf is a district of the municipality of Rattelsdorf in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg with a little over 100 inhabitants.

geography

Busendorf is located on the Hopfengraben above its confluence with the Itz , about 20 kilometers north of Bamberg , 10 kilometers west of Bad Staffelstein and 6 kilometers southeast of Ebern . To the northeast of Busendorf is the 304 meter high Büchelberg.

history

The place was first mentioned around 800 as "Bunselesdorf" in the traditions of the Fulda monastery. Probably the first settler was called Bouzzo or the name can be explained by the location of the place, as Busendorf is located on a country bus that extends far into the Itztal. Busendorf was probably created in the course of the Frankish colonization , around the 8th century. Around 1323 the place fell largely into the possession of the Dompropsteiamt Döringstadt . On July 1, 1972, the formerly independent municipality was incorporated into Rattelsdorf as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .

traffic

Busendorf is on the B 4 , southwest of the intersection with a district road . From October 1, 1913 to September 28, 1975, Busendorf had a stop on the Breitengüßbach – Dietersdorf railway line . Today buses of the Franconian omnibus traffic connect the town with Bamberg and Coburg .
