César / Best Documentary Short Film
The César for the best documentary short film was a French film award category of the César , which was awarded from 1977 to 1991. The nominations were made by the members of the Académie des Arts et Techniques du Cinéma . In addition to a short documentary film, Césars were also awarded for the best animated short film and the best fictional short film . Since 1992 short films have been awarded in the category Best Short Film (Meilleur court-métrage).
The César for the best documentary short film was awarded annually. In 1987, the César du Meilleur Documentaire category was introduced once, bringing together both short documentary and feature-length films. The César for Best Documentary (César du Meilleur Film Documentaire), which has been awarded since 2008 , only honors feature-length documentary films.
