Clint "CJ" Mosley Jr. (* 19th June 1992 in Mobile , Alabama ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the linebackers . He plays for the New York Jets in the National Football League (NFL).
Career
college
Mosley, who showed great athletic talent at an early age - he also played basketball and athletics in high school - had offers from various universities, chose the University of Alabama and played college football for its team, the Crimson Tide, with great success . He was not only able to win the state championship twice with his team , he himself has received numerous awards, including the renowned Butkus Award . In total, he was able to set 317 tackles , score 6.5 sacks and defend 19 passes in 59 games . He also got five interceptions and three touchdowns .
NFL
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens selected him as the 17th player in the first round of the NFL Draft in 2014 . He was able to establish himself in the team immediately in his rookie season and was a starter in all games . He finished his first professional season with 133 tackles and was called up to the Pro Bowl .
In 2015 he even managed a touchdown in the match against the Cincinnati Bengals . After another season in which he consistently performed well, he made his second Pro Bowl appointment in 2016. Further nominations followed in 2017 and 2018.
New York Jets
All efforts by the Ravens to retain Mosley beyond the 2018 season were unsuccessful. On 13 March 2019 he signed a lucrative five-year contract more than 85 million US dollars for a guaranteed sum of 51 million dollars at the New York Jets . Averaging $ 17 million a year, he became the top earner among linebackers, surpassing Luke Kuechly's record contract from the Carolina Panthers in 2015 ($ 62 million in five years). Because of a groin injury that he sustained on matchday one, Mosley was only used in two games in 2019 . For the 2020 season, he took advantage of the opt-out option due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
