Clifford "CJ" Spiller, Jr. (* 5 August 1987 in Lake Butler , Florida ) is a former American American football poker players in the position of running backs . He played with the Buffalo Bills , the New Orleans Saints , the Seattle Seahawks , the New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs ( 2017 ) in the National Football League (NFL).
college
Spiller attended Clemson University and played college football for their team, the Tigers, with great success between 2006 and 2009 , for which he was awarded numerous prizes and was appointed to various national teams. He scored a total of 51 touchdowns and holds various school records, which is why his shirt number (28) is no longer awarded by the Tigers.
NFL
Buffalo Bills
He was selected as the 9th player by the Buffalo Bills in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft . In his rookie year , he had to stand in for the starting runningback Marshawn Lynch , who was handed over to the Seattle Seahawks after three games - but could not replace him. He increased from year to year and was able to run 1244 yards in the 2012 season , for which he was also appointed to the Pro Bowl . While the 2013 season was similarly successful, it was rarely used in 2014 due to a broken collarbone .
New Orleans Saints
On March 13, 2015, he signed a four-year contract, the 9 million him for the New Orleans Saints dollars guaranteed.
On September 13, 2016, he was released by the Saints.
Seattle Seahawks
On September 28, 2016, Spiller signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks , which responded to the failure of Thomas Rawls . He was released on October 26, 2016.
New York Jets
On November 1, 2016, he signed a one-year contract with the New York Jets . He was released on December 6, 2016.
Kansas City Chiefs
On February 24, 2017, he was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs . He was released for the first time on September 2, 2017. He was released three times in two weeks, and signed back twice the next day.
