Thomas Rawls (* 3. August 1993 in Flint, Michigan ) is an American American football poker players in the position of running back . He last played for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League (NFL).

college

Rawls enrolled at the University of Michigan on February 1, 2011 . It was mostly used there as a halfback to cover short distances.

Rawls moved to Central Michigan University in January 2013 , where he was the most successful running back on his team.

NFL

Rawls was not selected in the 2015 NFL Draft , but was signed as a free agent by the Seattle Seahawks on May 18 . He fought against Fred Jackson , Robert Turbin and Christine Michael for the second running back behind Marshawn Lynch . After Michael moved to the Dallas Cowboys and Turbin was injured, he got the place in the squad. In week 3, Rawls had his first major mission on September 27, 2015 after an injury to Lynch, in which he ran 104 yards.

In week 5, Rawls ran 169 yards on October 11 in the game at the Cincinnati Bengals (24:27 loss), including a 69-yard touchdown run. This was the most yards run in a game for the Seahawks since Shaun Alexander in the 2006 season . On the 11th game day he replaced the injured Lynch on November 22, 2015 and ran against the San Francisco 49ers in a 29-13 victory for 209 yards and a touchdown. He also caught three passes for 46 yards and one more touchdown, setting a new Seahawks rookie record for yards run in a game. Former record holder was Curt Warner with 207 yards in 1983 against the Kansas City Chiefs . After Rawls was listed as Physically Unable to Perform due to the injury at the beginning of the 2016 season , he received permission from the medical department to participate in the training on August 7, 2016. In the regular season, he could not build on the successes of the previous year. In the last three games he was only able to achieve a total of 56 yards. In the first play-off game, however, he flourished and set a franchise postseason record with 161 yards run. In 2017 he achieved only 157 yards in 58 runs, a running average of just 2.7 yards per run. After the season he received no offer from the Seahawks and so became a free agent .

On March 30, 2018, he was signed by the New York Jets . As part of the final squad reduction to 53 players before the start of the 2018 regular season , he was dismissed. On September 20, 2018, Rawls was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals . He was released on October 9, 2018.

On January 9, 2019, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed Rawls. As part of the final roster cuts, he was released before the start of the season.
