The Cabka Group is a group of companies founded in 1993 with a focus on recycling and plastics processing based in Berlin . Cabka has developed from a recycling company to a global group of companies in the field of processing household and industrial waste into value-adding end products. These include, among other things, pallets and boxes as well as floor fixings. The company's products are used in around 80 countries in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, in retail , the food and beverage industry and the automotive industry.

The group consists of the umbrella company Cabka Group and its subsidiaries . In 2015, it generated a total output of around 139 million euros. Cabka has production sites in Germany, Spain, Belgium and the USA with a total of 700 employees. Key positions (CFO Group, COO Group) were filled in the 2016 financial year.

history

Today's Cabka company was founded in 1993 by Gat Ramon. In the following years he developed technologies for processing difficult mixed plastics in Weira near Jena , at that time still under the name Recover Systems .

In 1998 the company took over Cabka Plast, established in 1977, and changed the name of the entire group to Cabka.

Due to the strong demand for plastic pallets , Cabka started producing in the USA from 2005 and opened its own recycling and production facilities in St. Louis , Missouri , a little later . In the course of internationalization, the company has also been manufacturing in Spain since 2009 and operates its own sales office and warehouse there. In 2012 Cabka and the Belgian company Innova Packaging Systems NV (IPS), founded in 1988, merged under the umbrella of the newly established Cabka Group. Since then, the new Cabka-IPS brand has been offering plastic pallets under the management of Gat Ramon as managing partner. In the years that followed, the group bought other companies - including Eryplast , KS Kunststofftechnik GmbH & Co. and Systec Mixed Plastics GmbH (SMP) Genthin . SMP was previously part of Duales System Holding , which operates the Der Grüne Punkt brand .

Business overview

The Cabka Group, with its two business divisions Material Handling and EcoProducts, serves two independent product areas. Both of them focus on manufacturing new products from recycled plastics. These come from production committees in industry, from household packaging waste and from the return of disused products. The aim is to keep these recyclable materials in a closed cycle through close cooperation with customers.

To extract the material, the raw materials are processed in the company's own recycling facilities in a dry, mechanical process after sorting, without dissolving them chemically or thermally. The raw materials obtained are used in product development according to their material properties and then mixed together. In principle, every product and every customer-specific solution can be manufactured from a specially developed material mixture. Within this field, Cabka specializes in mixed plastics and composites that are difficult to separate .

With material extraction, product development and manufacturing, Cabka combines three production stages under one roof. In this strongly vertically integrated value chain , the company is a supplier, service provider and manufacturer in one.

Locations

Cabka has production sites in Weira , Genthin and Bad Münstereifel (Germany), Ypres and Herstal (Belgium) as well as in Valencia (Spain) and St. Louis (USA). The Cabka Group has had its headquarters in Berlin since 2012 .
