Camille Ney

Camille Ney (born January 1, 1919 in Ell ; † August 29, 1984 in Luxembourg ) was a Luxembourg politician of the Chrëschtlech Social Vollekspartei (CSV) who was a minister in various departments.

Life

Camille Ney worked as a veterinarian after studying veterinary medicine. His political activity began for the Christian Social People's Party CSV, when he in the parliamentary elections on June 7, 1964 for the first time a member of the Chamber of Deputies (Chamber) has been and there after his re-election in the general election on 15 December 1968 the constituency of North represented. On July 5, 1971, he took over the offices of State Secretary for Agriculture and Viticulture and State Secretary in the Ministry of National Education (Secrétaire d'État à l'Agriculture et à la Viticulture, Secrétaire d'État à l'Éducation in the fourth Werner government national) . In the course of a government reshuffle, he replaced Jean-Pierre Büchler as Minister of Agriculture (Ministre de l'Agriculture) and Madeleine Frieden-Kinnen as Minister of Public Health (Ministre de la Santé publique) on September 19, 1972 .

In the chamber election on May 26, 1974 , Ney was again a member of the Chamber of Deputies for the CSV and at the same time a member of the European Parliament between December 18, 1974 and July 16, 1979 , which were determined by the national parliaments at that time. After leaving the Chamber and the European Parliament , he was appointed to the fifth government of Werner on July 16, 1979 and took over the office of Minister for Agriculture, Viticulture, Water and Forestry (Ministre de l'Agriculture, de la Viticulture et des Eaux et Forêts) . He held this ministerial office until his resignation for health reasons on December 3, 1982, whereupon Ernest Mühlen succeeded him on December 21, 1982. After the death of Interior Minister Jean Wolter on February 26, 1980, he also served as interim interior minister (Ministre de l'Intérieur ad interim) until Jean Spautz took office on March 3, 1980 .
