Cane (English for pipe , similar to the word Sugarcane = sugarcane , developed under the title Los Duques ) is an American drama - television series , which premiered at the station on 25 September 2007 CBS celebrated. The series was conceived by Cynthia Cidre, which later continued the similar series Dallaswas responsible. Although the series at that time, with its pilot episode, caught one of the strongest ratings in the history of the station, the ratings fell so sharply that the broadcasting station decided not to continue the series after 13 episodes. It has not yet been broadcast in German.

The series revolves around the Cuban-American family Duque, which is active in rum and sugar production. When family patriarch Pancho Duque receives a lucrative but questionable offer from his bitter opponents, the Samuels, he is faced with a difficult choice: Should he get out of the sugar business and concentrate exclusively on the production of rum, and so should his own son Do Frank right, or should he protect the family heritage and play into the cards of his son-in-law Alex Vega, who is active in the family business, who despises the Samuels and instead sees billions of dollars in profits from future ethanol sales contracts ?
