Captal de book

The captal de Buch is the name given to the lords of the Captalat de Buch in the south of the Pays de Buch , which covers the area south of the Bassin d'Arcachon with the towns of Arcachon , La Teste-de-Buch and Gujan-Mestras , and in the 18th century also Le Pond , included.

From the Middle Ages to the French Revolution, four families in succession owned the captalate:

  • 1274–1328 - The Bordeaux House
  • 1328–1593 - The Grailly House
  • 1593–1713 - The Nogaret house
  • 1713–1803 - The Amanieu de Ruat house
