Carabietta (officially called Cara bb ietta until 1959 ) was a political municipality in the Paradiso district , in the Lugano district of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland , until March 31, 2012 .

geography

The village is at 301 m above sea level. M. at the foot of the Oro hill range, on Lake Lugano opposite Caslano and 5.5 km southwest of Lugano .

history

The village was first mentioned in 1335 under the name Carabio (also used for Carabbia ), then La Carabieta in 1375 .

Community merger

On April 1, 2012, it merged with the existing municipality of Collina d'Oro .
