The Caritas of the Diocese of Linz , also Caritas Upper Austria, is a social aid organization of the Roman Catholic Church in the Austrian state of Upper Austria . It is part of Caritas Austria , but an independent institution and is subordinate to the Bishop of the Diocese of Linz .

Franz Kehrer is the director of Caritas in the Diocese of Linz. He is responsible for the diocesan charity, Edith Pfeiffer is the deputy director.

Caritas Upper Austria has 12 social counseling centers (Linz, Wels , Steyr , Braunau , Perg , Grieskirchen , Kirchdorf an der Krems , Vöcklabruck , Schärding , Gmunden , Rohrbach , Ried im Innkreis ) and operates facilities that help people in existential emergencies, in housing and / or support unemployment :

  • Warming rooms - day center
  • Frida - day center for homeless women
  • Hartlauerhof - Accompanied housing project
  • Crisis living, home security network, Braunau emergency quarters

Caritas for children and young people

Caritas Upper Austria promotes development with offers for children and young people from education, care and support to therapy and also supports church day-care centers in Upper Austria with expertise and service:

The guiding principle of Caritas Upper Austria is "We promote integration" describes the core task of Caritas for people with disabilities: Support and accompaniment of people with disabilities by encouraging and accompanying children, young people and adults, relieving their families as well as training and assistance for professional integration :

Finances

The income of EUR 155,382,829 consists mainly of public (83.58%) and private (8.25%) contributions to costs for services; donations amount to 6.31%. 3.25% of the expenses are for administration and less than 0.5% for fundraising (as of 2017).

According to the information provided by the Federal Ministry of Finance, donations to Caritas in the Diocese of Linz are tax-deductible as special expenses.
