Carl Hugenberg

Carl Heinrich Wilhelm Hugenberg (born January 29, 1836 in Osnabrück , † November 6, 1882 in Hanover ) was a Prussian administrative lawyer and national liberal politician of the 19th century.

Life

Hugenberg was born in 1836 as the son of the judiciary and notary Christian Hugenberg from Osnabrück and Mathilde Meyer-Scheldenhausen. Both parents came from farming families .

Carl Hugenberg studied law in Heidelberg and Göttingen. In Heidelberg he became a member of the Corps Suevia . In Göttingen he joined the Corps Hannovera in 1858 . Hugenberg received his doctorate iur. After the passed state examination and the then usual first training stations in the administration, he was 1864 City Treasurer in Hannover, 1865 Mayor of Uelzen , 1868 Schatzrat the country Board of the Province of Hanover and 1867 as a member of the National Liberal Party for the constituency of Uelzen in the Prussian House of Representatives voted. From 1870 to 1873 he represented the constituency of Lehe there.

In addition, Hugenberg was a member of the supervisory board of the Hanover-Altenbekener Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft . In 1877 he published a historical overview of the development of road construction in the Kingdom of Hanover .

He was married to Erneste Hugenberg, b. Adickes (1841–1917), the daughter of Ernst Friedrich Adickes , a member of the Hanover state parliament and landowner in Heuhausen. The later Reich Minister Alfred Hugenberg was a son from this marriage.
