Namesake
Fiedler recognized the microclimate of Oberlößnitz , which had a beneficial effect on lung patients . In 1892, on his recommendation, the city of Dresden acquired the winery there called Walthers Weinberg, which had already been laid out in 1658 by Grand Chancellor von Lüttichau on Zschorna . The main building from 1845, in the previous building of which Oberlößnitz had officially founded as a municipality on August 6, 1839, was converted by 1893 into a home for mentally healthy lung patients who were in need of recovery for 30 patients. In reference to the founder, the house on Augustusweg was given the name Fiedlerhaus .
This name became so common that the nearby Kerbtal, previously known as Walthers Grund (previously Finstergrund ), was soon called Fiedlergrund . And the Tautzschenbach flowing through the valley , one of the Lost Waters , was given the name Fiedlerbach .
