Carl von Elern

Carl August Dietrich von Elern (born March 24, 1841 in Krotoschin , † October 27, 1912 in Bandels , Preussisch Eylau district ) was the manor owner, district administrator and member of the German Reichstag .

origin

His parents were the Colonel a. D. Eduard Wilhelm Dietrich von Elern (born September 26, 1801; † February 23, 1879) and his second wife Luise von Kozynski .

Life

Elern received private tuition and attended grammar school in Glogau and the cadet schools in Bensberg and Berlin . He then joined the Prussian Army , took part in the German War in 1866 and in the war against France in 1870/71 . Most recently he served as commander of the 1st Brandenburg Field Artillery Regiment No. 3 (General-Feldzeugmeister) and was put up for disposition as a colonel in 1883 .

From 1883 he managed his manor in the Preussisch-Eylau district of Bandels. Since 1889 he was in the district assembly , in 1891 district deputy and from 1893 to 1896 a member of the Prussian House of Deputies as a member of the constituency of Königsberg 4 (Heiligenbeil - Preußisch Eylau). Between 1896 and 1901 he was district administrator of the Preussisch-Eylau district. He was a bearer of the Red Eagle Order III. Class with swords, the Order of the Crown III. Class, the Iron Cross II. Class, the Knight's Cross of the Royal House Order of Hohenzollern and a number of foreign commander's crosses.

From 1903 to 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the Reichstag constituency administrative region Königsberg 5 (Heiligenbeil-Preußisch Eylau) and the German Conservative Party .

family

He married on November 5, 1867 Helene von König (born May 2, 1843), a daughter of the Hanoverian Treasury Council Friedrich Wilhelm von König . The couple had two children:

  • Kraft Eduard Erich Götz (* May 21, 1869)
  • Max Felix Rudolf Alfred (born March 11, 1876)
