Heinrich von Schirmeister

Heinrich (Karl Friedrich Wilhelm) von Schirmeister (born August 17, 1817 in Stannaitschen , Kr. Gumbinnen , † August 14, 1892 in Berlin ) was a German administrative lawyer and member of the Reichstag in East Prussia.

Life

Schirmeister attended the Friedrichsschule Gumbinnen and became a farmer. He later studied law at the Albertus University of Königsberg , the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Berlin . He was a member of the Corps Littuania from 1836 and stayed with the Silber-Litthauer split in 1848. From 1841 to 1865 he was in the civil service as a government trainee in Königsberg and district administrator in the district of Insterburg (1845-1851) and in the district of Darkehmen (1851-1865). He then worked for the fire insurance bank for Germany in Gotha . He was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly and its Economic Committee. He was also an honorary member of the Central Agricultural Association for Lithuania and Mazury . In 1861 he was of Wilhelm I as King of Prussia ennobled . For the Liberal Association , he represented the Reichstag constituency from Königsberg 5 in the Reichstag (German Empire) from 1881 to 1884 .
