Carlo Borer

Carlo Borer (born March 23, 1961 in Solothurn ) is a Swiss artist and designer .

Carlo Borer is a conscious self-taught artist . He has been working as a freelancer since 1981. He began with representational painting, drawings and three-dimensional works made of polyester and electric light. Since 1991 he has been building objects made of chrome steel or aluminum and since 1999 he has been designing, developing and constructing sculptures, sculptures, installations, furniture and everyday objects such as espresso machines, fans and mailboxes using 3D CAD . The shapes are cut from sheet metal, rounded and welded with the laser. Borer calls the resulting works transformers , loops or clouds . For his No Readymades and Spaceships , Borer was inspired by found objects, but created the works as complex forms in virtual reality using further developed Cad systems .

Carlo Borer lives in Wanzwil and has a studio in Zuchwil .
