Carlos Manuel Escribano Subías (born August 15, 1964 in Carballo ) is a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Calahorra y La Calzada-Logroño .

Life

The Archbishop of Zaragoza , Elías Yanes Álvarez , ordained him a priest on July 14, 1996 . In Saragossa, he first worked as a pastor, before he became episcopal vicar in 2005 and at the same time was professor of theology in the regional center of Aragón. From 2006 to 2008 he was the patron of the University of San Jorge Foundation .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Teruel y Albarracín on July 20, 2010 . He was ordained episcopal on September 26th of the same year by the Archbishop of Madrid , Antonio María Cardinal Rouco Varela ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Renzo Fratini , Apostolic Nuncio in Spain and Andorra , and Elías Yanes Álvarez, Old Archbishop of Saragossa. As a motto he chose Quære primum Regnum Dei et Iustituam eius .

On May 13, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Calahorra y La Calzada-Logroño .
