Caroline Dhavernas [ də'vɜ̝ːnə (s) , 'dæ- ] (born May 15, 1978 in Montreal , Québec ) is a Canadian actress . She was best known for her leading role in the television series Wonderfalls .

life and career

Dhavernas' parents also worked as actors.

Dhavernas' career began at the age of 8 when she dubbed cartoons such as Babar . She was first seen on television when she was 12 years old . At the turn of the millennium, she was first seen in a number of Canadian TV productions, with the drama Lost and Delirious (alongside Piper Perabo and Mischa Barton ) and the comedy Eis Kalt (with Lee Majors and Jason London ), the first appearances in movies followed in 2001 . A year later she appeared in an episode of Law & Order . In 2004 her acclaimed portrayal of Jaye followed in the series Wonderfalls , of which only 13 episodes were produced. Since the end of the show, she has been working increasingly in film productions, for example alongside David Boreanaz in the 2005 film These Girls . In 2007 she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Genie Awards for Niagara Motel and for The Beautiful Beast ( La belle bête ) together with Patrick Watson in the category Best Movie. In the same year she played the East German wife of a budding FBI agent in the thriller Unmasked - Treason at the highest level . In 2011 she starred in the short-lived ABC series Off the Map , which is produced by Grey's Anatomy inventor Shonda Rhimes .
