Caspar König (born November 15, 1675 in Ingolstadt ; † July 9, 1765 there ) was a German organ builder .

Life

Caspar König was the eldest son of Johann König . Like his two brothers Melchior (* 1680) and Balthasar (* 1684), who also built an organ and settled in the Rhineland, he was named after the Three Kings. After the father's death in 1691, the mother probably continued the business. In 1708 Caspar took over the workshop in Ingolstadt.

Along with Johann Ignaz Egedacher and Johann Konrad Brandenstein, he became the most important organ builder of his time in Old Bavaria.

His son Franz König (born September 28, 1717 in Ingolstadt ; † November 3, 1791 in Ingolstadt) was his successor. From 1755, the organ contracts were signed. But he no longer achieved the importance of his father.
