Caspar Matthäus Müller , also: Caspar Matthaeus Müller , Kaspar Matthias Müller (born October 15, 1662 in Rostock ; † May 24, 1717 ibid) was a German lawyer and university professor.

Life

Caspar Matthäus Müller was a son of the Rostock Protestant theologian Heinrich Müller and his wife Magaretha Elisabeth, née. Sibrand. He was tutored by private tutors. As early as the winter semester 1669/1670, as was often the case at the time, he was enrolled at the University of Rostock as the son of the rector "rectoris filii". From 1679 he completed a law degree in Rostock under Andreas Amsel and Johann Sibrand , which he continued from 1682 at the University of Frankfurt (Oder) , especially with Samuel Stryk . In January 1687 he held his Inauguraldisputation at the Law Faculty of the University of Rostock, 1689 took place at the Christian-Albrechts-University at Kiel promotion to Dr. iur. utr. In 1693 he was appointed as the successor of Hermann Sibrand at the Philosophical Faculty in Rostock as a full professor of morality. He was conciliar of the university council, several times dean and pro-dean and in 1699 rector of the university. His successor in office was Joachim Heinrich Sibrand , when he moved to the legal faculty to the ducal ord in 1700 as the successor to the late Albert Willebrand . Professor of Rights / Institutions. Caspar Matthäus Müller was married to Katharina Elisabeth Biermann from 1693. The marriage had two daughters who died at an early age.
