Caspar von Waldenfels (* around 1380 , † 1441 ) was captain in the mountains and at court , Brandenburg councilor and bailiff for Plassenburg in Kulmbach .

Life

Caspar came from the noble family from Waldenfels zu Wartenfels . According to the genealogist Biedermann, he was married to Margaretha von Schaumberg . His sons Fritz († 1450) and Hans († 1470) triggered the Waldenfels feud .

On June 4, 1422 he stayed a. a. next to Count Oswalt von Truhendingen , Conrad von Aufseß , Hans von Sparneck , Erhart von Machwitz , Hans von Seebach and Apel von Vitzthum the Elder at Schleiz Castle , where a peace alliance to secure the highways against robbery and drudgery between Elector Friedrich von Brandenburg and the Landgraves Friedrich the Elder , Wilhelm and Friedrich the Younger of Thuringia completed and mutual help was promised. Caspar von Waldenfels had to undertake to ensure that his successor in the role of bailiff for Plassenburg in Coburg confessed to the concluded peace alliance.

In 1427 Caspar acquired the rule of Lichtenberg from Count Sigismund von Orlamünde . When the Hussites invaded Lichtenberg under Caspar von Waldenfels, it was successfully defended. Enoch Widmann reports on the Hussite invasion of Hof in 1430, which Caspar, as captain, wanted to avert with a cash payment. To repair the damage, the city was given ten years of tax exemption.
