Incidents

  • On July 15, 2009, a Caspian Airlines Tupolev Tu-154M crashed on Caspian Airlines flight 7908 from Tehran to Yerevan near the village of Jannatabad near Qazvin in northwestern Iran. The aircraft with the aircraft registration EP-CPG had an accident 16 minutes after take-off, all 156 passengers and the twelve crew members were killed.
  • On January 27, 2020, the MD-83 with the aircraft registration EP-CPZ did not stop before the end of the runway when landing at Mahschahr Airport in southwestern Iran. The end of the runway was run over and the machine only came to a standstill on the motorway behind it. The landing gear broke away, but the cell remained largely intact. All 150 passengers and crew members were uninjured. Preliminary investigations assume a technical defect in the approx. 30 year old machine.
