history

Castelfranco di Sopra was founded by Florence in 1299. On January 1, 2014, the previously independent municipality was merged with the neighboring municipality of Pian di Scò to form the new municipality of Castelfranco Piandiscò . The municipality had 3098 on December 31, 2013 on an area of ​​38 km². The municipality belonging fractions Caspri, Certignano, llama, and Pietravigne Pulicciano.
