Florentine Lily
Florentine lily is used in stylistics for a variant of the lily as a symbol or ornament that has become known from Tuscany . In addition to numerous and varied uses in the fine arts , it is also important as a heraldic lily , and symbol of Florence's coat of arms since the Middle Ages.
presentation
The Florentine lily differs from the classic lily in that it has two stamens (inflorescences) and shows bearded or curled petal tips. There are also representations with not quite as pronounced to strongly stylized stamens. In Italian it is called Giglio bottonato ( bottone 'bud': 'budded lily'), the stamens themselves are heraldically depicted with lily ends.

history
The Florentine lily has been shown on the Fiorino (Florin) , the mint of the Republic of Venice, since 1252 . It can be proven as a coat of arms at the Porta Campana (Torre d'Arnofo) from 1300, in Castelfranco di Sopra , a former Tuscan municipality in the province of Arezzo .
