Ferentino is a municipality in the province of Frosinone in the Italian region of Lazio with 20,864 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is 74 km east of Rome and 12 km northwest of Frosinone .
geography
Ferentino is located on a hill above the Sacco valley , between the Monti Ernici in the north and the Monti Lepini in the south in the traditional landscape of the Ciociaria . It is a member of the Comunità Montana Monti Ernici .
Ferentino includes the districts of Cercete, Pareti, Porciano, San Rocco, Sant'Antonio, Stazione, Terme Pompeo, Terravalle, Tofe and Torre Noverana.
The neighboring municipalities are Acuto , Alatri , Anagni , Fiuggi , Frosinone , Fumone , Morolo , Sgurgola , Supino and Trivigliano .

history
In antiquity, the city was established in the 8th century BC Settled by the hernians . 413 BC BC it came into the Roman sphere of influence, was after a revolt in 361 BC. politics
Piergianni Fiorletta ( PD ) was elected mayor in May 2003 and confirmed in office in April 2008. His center-left alliance also has the majority in the municipal council with 12 out of 20 seats. Antonio Pompeo was elected as the new mayor on May 26, 2013.
