Campoli Appennino is an Italian commune in the Lazio region , Frosinone province in central Italy with 1660 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located 37 km northeast of Frosinone and 119 km east of Rome .
geography
Campoli Appennino is located on a hill above the Lacerno valley above Sora on the edge of the Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo . It is a member of the Comunità Montana Valle di Comino .

politics
Pietro Annunzio Mazzone was elected mayor in May 2006. Pancrazia di Benedetto (Lista Civica: Insieme Per Il Bene Comune) has been the new mayor since June 12, 2017.
Attractions
Campoli has a closed medieval townscape, which is still surrounded by a complete city wall.
- At the highest point of the village rises the 25 m high tower which was built in the 9th century on an older base by Landolfo d'Aquino.
- The medieval parish church of Sant'Andrea Apostolo was changed to Baroque style in the 17th century.
- One kilometer outside of the village stands the church of San Pancrazio, built in 1594, in an impressive landscape.
- The remains of an ancient aqueduct , the so-called Acquedotto di Nerone , have been preserved in the municipality .
- The Centro Orso provides information about the life of the bears in the nearby Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo. (Closed in 2008).
Culinary specialties
In the Campoli area, the truffle species Tuber aestivum , Tuber brumale and Tuber magnatum are found. The Black Truffle Festival takes place on the third weekend in June and the White Truffle Festival on the third weekend in November.
