Villa Latina is a municipality in the province of Frosinone in the Italian region of Lazio with 1212 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located 134 km east of Rome and 53 km east of Frosinone .

geography

Villa Latina is located in the Melfa valley. It is a member of the Comunità Montana Valle di Comino .

The neighboring towns are Atina , Belmonte Castello , Picinisco and Sant'Elia Fiumerapido .

history

The area of ​​Villa Latina belonged to Atina. It was not until 1832 that the community became independent under the name Agnone . As a reference to the many archaeological finds from antiquity in the municipality, it took the name Villa Latina in 1862 .
